Hi All,

I set up SMF 1.1.8 and try to configure this requirement for few days but no luck.

I have 3 forum in my SMF

#1 and #2 allow all members to post
#3 allow only local moderator to post

I try to set "access permission" in #3 forum to "reply only" and set "Moderator" group to "Allow posting" but it didn't work.

Any suggestion would be appreciated,

I think that you should do the following -

Permissions > Permissions by Board > Select "Local" for the board you want only a moderator to post in > Click on the name of the board (in the permissions by board bit still) > Change all the permissions by clicking "modify" so that only mods can post

I'd suggest you upgrade to v1.1.10 very soon as there was a big security problem in previous versions.

Did the above suggestions help with your issue?  Remember the Moderator membergroup is a special group that doesn't act like other membergroups.  The moderator permissions are only active on the board that the moderator is assigned to.
