Hi all.
I am running SMF RC2 with Simple Portal 2.3.1 and in WAP mode no links are clickable links in WAP mode.
Also... Images do not show in WAP mode either.

I had these same situations before upgrading to 2.0 RC2 (thanks  fussilet) and the fixes for that version do not apply to this version. Or, if they do there is a slight difference that I cannot figure out.
Thanks

This is normal behavior for WAP mode. Its built for mobile web browsers so that phones can load the webpage faster.

This might be normal behavior if it were 1989 ;) This is a board for BlackBerry's where many of my users browse via their BBs. Also, downloads straight from the board to the BlackBerry is necessary and used to work. There were fixes for this for the older version of SMF so that means there has got to be a way to fix this version as well.

I will look for someone who might beable to help you with this, I know it would be in your theme's wireless.template.php file though some where, looking at it currently I can't see anything for it, but I'm sure there is something there or something you can add.

All though i'm quite sure a black berry user can load the page just fine without wap, wap is generally for normal phones (such as a nokia or something of the sort) No reason to use wap on a black berry IMO....

For the most part you're wrong. Unless they're using Opera mini.

Well I've never owned a black berry, but seeing as they are smart phones, they should be able to load the content nicely...I guess not XD

Some do some don't. For the most part it depends on whether or not you are on a fast network too. Also, some people do not have unlimited data plans so a lighter version of the forum is nice for them as well.

Alternative might be found...
Regarding images.. Do the areas in wireless.template.php where "strip_tags" is have anything to do with images not showing?

Why not try installing a theme made for smartphones such as Curve Mobile ?

Sorry, I would maybe try a mod request.

There is this mod:
http://www.empireofthesun.net/forum/index.php?topic=5828.0

but you will have to ask the author where you can grab a download as its not on the SMF site.

edit: Curve Mobile will work to.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Curve mobile doesn't seem to work for me and I have yet to see a site where it did.
Images and links used to work i SMF 1.x with an edit to the wireless template. I don't think the same edits worked in this version.
