I have tested this mod and can say that it works. You can open any message index (with contents of course) @ hxxp:simplerevamp2.qom.my [nonactive] (test site) and hxxp:anypost.qom.my [nonactive] (open post site) and click the [ + ] next to topic to see how it is working.

not work at hxxp:anypost.qom.my [nonactive] for me (google chrome)

That's a more-than-1-year-old post... So it got removed there (so was SMF, btw )

I just installed the MOD in my test board using emulation for SMF 2.0 RC3 and it works fine.
