Say that in Settings.php, the following is set: $boardurl = 'http://www.example.com/forums';

If a user is viewing a topic at https://www.example.com/forums/index.php?topic=1234 and replies to that topic, the notification emails will use the https instead of http version specified in Settings.php. I.e., it uses the URL the user uses instead of the URL that the settings say.

To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

If think this is done on purpose (using the most "safe" protocol available, or the "current").
Does anyone have an idea?

Take a peek at what I'm doing! ;D

This actually appears to be intentional; if the user requests the page with HTTPS, it appears that $boardurl and $scripturl are updated so that all links contain HTTPS thereafter.

This seems sane to me.
