SMF does not send e-mail notification of your own posts

I have spent several hours troubleshooting why my SMF forum would not send e-mail notification of posts.

My hours of time were wasted because I was using my own login to write test posts and look for notification in my e-mail.

SMF DOES NOT SEND E-MAIL NOTIFICATION OF YOUR OWN POSTS!

Don't waste hours trying to test using your own login. Make a dummy login for testing or enable Guest posting to write posts while not logged in.

Simple Machines: Please document this attribute somewhere so other people don't also waste hours of their time.

? Why would you want it to notify you of your own post? That is completely unnecessary. Have you ever considered that it could be a PHP configuration problem.
Why aren't my members getting emails sent from the forum?
