paid subscriptions not updating

Hi

I have paid subscriptions active in the 2.0rc2 version and when someone subscribes it should upgrade to the default group for that subscription.
However I have had to do this manually.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's odd. Are you sure you have the feature set up correctly? Also, do you get any errors in the error log relating to the subscriptions?

No error messages.
What should the settings be to automatically upgrade to the next membership level?

Primary Group upon Subscription:
Primary group to put the user into when they subscribe.

That's from the subscription settings. You must choose the group here that you want subscribers to be moved into.

Have done that but when changing memberships I have had to remove from old status to upgrade to new status.
Any thoughts.

Did you give Paypal the right IPN url ?

Still the same, what setting should be marked for groups eg. private group must be invited.

This is an issue for me too, and has been for around 3 years when I was using the mod. There was a time when it worked, then it stopped.

If I'm lucky, some members get a "pending" which I can then click on to accept, but some subscriptions remain "Finished".

I did a test run just now, went to paypal paid my 1 penny, return URL no problems but the forum says

"Thank you for your payment. Once the transaction has been verified the subscription will be activated."

Nothing in the error log at all.

Is there anything server side which could block this from working? Firewall perhaps?

You could go to paypal and look at IPN history to see if it shows any errors

yea they are correct that there is some bug some issue with users that pay using paypal not being upgraded. they are being marked as payment pending when it was a instant payment not a echeck or anything. the thing is it comes and goes..

the issue is not just on smf 2.x paid subs its on the paid subs mod it self. we had the issue about 3 years ago on paid subs too.

For me, it worked for a time... but I'd say for the past 2 years I've not had a successful subscription.

yepp its been a on going issue for me for years too . we have worked with the maker and admins with no fix. but i got good news we now have why it is happening!!!

also sending aussieherps a personal message to let him know. this is great news because we can not have anything fixed when we dont know whats broken now we can try to move on and get this taken care of.. 3 years later lol.

Mmm, I had a stuck pending too. Nothing I could do about it. It was out of date anyway, so I've deleted the records and hopefully that might solve it??
