Well, I have about 2½ years old smf backup and I'd like to get it working on my newly installed forums.. I tried "loading" it at phpmyadmin, and it worked, but I can't open threads because of error:

Unknown column 'a.file_hash' in 'field list'
File: E:\Xampp\htdocs\smf\Sources\Display.php
Line: 711

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.11, while your database is at version 1.1.2. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

E: For some reason only guests can read threads. I was able to change all forums to public so I can read em again, but I can't read em if I'm logged in.

Search for that specific error message on this board, and you will find lots of information on how to upgrade your database. While you're at it, make sure the database upgrade brings you up to smfVersion 1.1.11, so you don't get that annoying second part of the message.
