Would it be possible to add a link on the actual thread display to goto the first unread post in that thread?

Or is this not possible since once you are on a thread, it is too late as its already considered all posts are read?

I think this is a good idea... I've thought sometimes it'd be nice to have it...

would it be possible to save the $new post before resetting it in the database? and use that for the link

Been thinking about a similar feature that would only mark a page as read when you've actually seen that page, instead of marking the whole topic as read.

I can see you've been thinking about it for at least three replies... ;D

hmm... the idea is nice, but wouldn't it mess up when the number of replies shown in each page gets changed in the prefs? although that doesn't really happen often

and how would it work? you can have a "new" message for each page? so if I read page 2 when it has 4 replies and then come back a few days later and open pate 3 when it's only got 3 replies, page 2 will still have the 5th message as the new one?

I think the "new" per thread is okay though, the above should be optional, if done

Ok, I also need to do something about the double posting for wireless users :P

And I still can't remove any messages, when i'm in a train ;)
About how it would work: it wouldn't store information about which page was read, but only untill which time messages within have been read. This time pointer would move to the posting time of the last message of the page.

I've actually been thinking about a similar feature - that is to say, one that's exactly what you described.
