Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

This is the error i get when uploading attachments at a size of 1280 x 1024.

And hello you all.

What do i have to do to get this to work?
Attachments a resized to 1024 x 768.

Please , i really need some help with this.

Thank you in advance,

Emmer.

Hi, Emmer!

You've checked the settings in Admin>Attachments, I guess?

You can set max filesizes and the like, there.

flapjack

keep in mind that php.ini settings will always override SMF settings. if what Kat sugessted won't work, try using phpInfo to determine what's maximum avatar size allowed on your server

emmer955

Rgr, mind my ignorance, but how do i do that and where can i find this file?

And please, can you explain where to put the YouTube code?
I tried to find it, but can't .

Thank you in advance.

emmer955

Ok, people , works!
But only with one attachment at the same time.

Multiple images as well.

Anyways , thanks for all the help and replies.

Do you have enough space on the server?

Hmm, could be an issue.
I will check it out.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks!

I checked the webspace.I use only a staggering 0,5 % of the 500 mb of webspace.
So , i guess i have still enough.

Have this url for you:

So can you tell me , please , what size i have to put in for images sized 1280  x 1024?

Thank you in advance,

Emmer.

kat

Right. The only things you've not confirmed are...

You've checked the settings in Admin>Attachments?

Particularly:
Max attachment folder space
(0 for no limit)

Max attachment size per post
(0 for no limit)

Max size per attachment
(0 for no limit)
Max number of attachments per post.

Also, "Resize images when showing under posts", "Maximum width of thumbnails" and "Maximum height of thumbnails" could affect whether the attachments appear, if they're pictures.

emmer955

Yes, that was my question too.

What size i have to put there?

Now its like this:

Max attachment folder space:  220060519 KB
Max attachment size per post:  220060519 KB
Max size per attachment: 220060519  KB

Maximum width of thumbnails:  1024
Maximum height of thumbnails:  768

So images sized 1280 x 1024 are resized to 1024 x 768

That's what i want.

Now people can upload standard screenshots which are 1280  x 1024 to the forum.

Took too long to upload is rubbish because i have a 10 mbit line here.Enough bandwith i guess.
I think its something else, but what?

kat

That all looks OK, to me.

Maybe you ought to ask your host about this, coz we seem to have covered all the bases, now.

emmer955

Haven't checked it yet.........thanks for the heads up..... ;)

BTW, am getting another error when posting images: (images are with .bmp extensions, maybe this is not supported at the forums?)

Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message.
No subject was filled in.
The message body was left empty.

No idea whatsoever what's wrong.

Hope someone helps me out here.

Thank you in advance.

If you look at the attachment settings, you'll see "Allowed attachment extensions".

Just add BMP to that.

They take-up a LOT more room on your server, though, than JPG and GIF files.
