This would be a nice feature, but I cannot figure out a way to do it.
Suppose all club officers should receive notification whenever someone posts to the "club officers" board.

Is there a way admin can set notification preferences for other users?

Yes, in the topic itself, they can subscribe.  Whenever someone posts, an email is sent..

Click on "Notify".

Yes, but these particular users are a bit, uh, unused to forums.

Is there any way *I* can subscribe them to a board notification.

Hello Angelina, :)

I always have a test member (User name) Just For Testing (Display name).  ;)

I went into that user's profile and under account settings I made that user a Global Moderator.
As it turns out, it doesn't matter what member-group they belong to, I could NOT find a way to subscribe them.  :(

There is a way, but I do NOT recommend it, you would have to login with their user name and password (bad idea).  :o

It would be much better to place a link somewhere in your forum that takes them to the Online Manual. Specifically, this

  ;D

http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=47

Then they can learn how it is done. :)

Just my two cents. O:)

That's what I thought.  Thanks.
I thought I had missed something.
So what I want is a mod request, I guess.

Thanks
