Some problems after updating to RC3

After updating from RC2 to RC3, for some reason, my account tried to look for this image: from the directory english-utf8/, which didn't exist - we only had english/.

I installed the utf8 language pack, so now it's ok.

But why did this happen? For other people, it seemed to look from the directory english/, so why did it look from the wrong place for me?

Another problem which only seems to effect my account - for other users it's apparently ok;

this started just a while ago - it worked well for a moment after updating.

Most of the menu texts are missing...

I'm not really sure whether the language pack installation cleared out (most of) the language data... erm?

edit: okay, I accidentally installed the SMF1 uft8 language pack. So I downloaded the one for SMF2 and installed it, but still no change...
