Adding comments/notes to pages

Is there anyway to add comments/notes to the main page (or any other page).  I (admin) only what to display the topics or articles.  Thanks.

Have you tried the portal mods?   Its a front page where you can add your content, articles, ads, images, topics, etc throughout your forum.
