Hello,

An admin of mine accidently deleted a member... is there any way to restore this? (Without requiring the intervention of the user in question).

Thanks

flapjack

restore the previous database backup is the easiest solution

It's possible to create a new account and re-attribute the users post, messages, topics but if you want the same account before it was deleted, you will need to revert to a previous backup. Or if you're good with database manipulation, you can pull some data for the account from a backup, change the account IDs, etc.

If the backup is more than a day old aren't you going to be losing a few posts doing that?

I used this thread - http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=32961.0 - to help me merge two user accounts (deleted member + that members new account). Might help you. G'luck!

In SMF 2.0, there's a UI to handle this from the Admin Interface.
