One last question.
On this forum (the support forum), after posting, I am sent back to the list of topics. I like that.
On my 2.0 RC3 forum, after posting, I am sent to the posted message. I don't like that.

How do I change it? I have checked and unchecked the "Return to topics after posting by default" option.
Nothing happens, it always sends me to the posted message.

With gratitude,

CapadY

What if you change that setting in your own profile settings ?

I think you selected the wrong line to change it.
Just changing the default option, not changing it for all current members.
Please, don't PM me for support unless invited.
If you don't understand this, you will be blacklisted.

@capady, thanks for your reply.

I have also tried changing it in my own profile settings. On, off, on, off. Nothing happens.

No, I did change it for all current members.

Feel free to come have a look at one of my forums:

Hi,

Just to clarify again,
This is what I have in MY profile. [2.0 RC3]

I post  a new message, and the forum sends me back to the text of the message, not to the list of topics on the board.
Any tips appreciated!

With gratitude,

In addition, I just inspected the smf_themes table.

The return_to_post variable is missing from the theme, which is a copy of curve that I made through the Admin centre. Many other variables are missing. And it's the same for my other forum.

But anyhow, the option is set in my member options, and it's not happening.

Hi Runic,

Thank you for looking at this, I really appreciate it.  ;D
Yes, I have cleared the cache, deleted cookies, tried multiple browsers...
I looked at the Apache error log: Nothing related to that.
Thank you for suggesting that.

I thought it might have to do with the fact that I use a copy of the standard "Curve" theme (a copy made in the Admin panel).
So I switched to Curve, but the same behavior arises.
It is really mysterious. This is happening on both of my 2.0 RC3 forums (one is a fresh webinstall, the other an upgrade from 1.1.11).
I have been using 1.1.11 on the same host without any issues.
Anyone who wants to test drive this problem is most welcome to do so.

Okay,

Thanks everyone, this is solved.
It was a problem with the ID 10 T.
[translation for those who don't know the code: idiot  (read ID 10 T a little closer) ??? ]

As you can see on the picture a bit higher on the thread, "Return to topics after posting" was checked.
For the behavior I was trying to produce, it should have been unchecked.
WOW!

I could swear that it didn't work before when it was unchecked, as I thought I tried everything...
But I wouldn't trust myself if I swore.

Thank you for your patience,
Sorry about the confusion.

Wishing all a fun day,

;D
