jpeg images not resizing correctly!?

It even happens on this site. Download the jpeg attachment I have uploaded and you will see that it's actually the cat, not an orange box! If I convert it to a png format the file will resize correctly.

Hmmm, maybe it was something wrong with the image. After I re-saved the image in photoshop it was fine . Strange!
