How can I change the text that shows up in the search engine? For example instead of 'Fat Loss Forums - Index', I would it to say 'Fat Loss Forums - Weight loss, Exercise, Nutrition, Diet, Help' . I also want to change the description of my site to something that is more attractive. Anyone know how?

Not tested, but it would be something like this

/Themes/{your_theme}/index.template.php find

<title>', $context['page_title_html_safe'], '</title>';

replace

<title>Fat Loss Forums - Weight loss, Exercise, Nutrition, Diet, Help</title>';

Or,

you could just remove the '- Index' part. For how to change it, see this post:

Remove the Index part, and use metakeys to make a description. Google does still use metakeys to add a description for a site.

You can add metakeys in Admin -> Features and Options
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Meta tags changes that information.

You can use a Meta Tag mod to do it.. or you can do it manually.

I'm edited the file in my language folder but have yet to see the change.

For meta tags, I already have keywords listed but they are not showing up during search.

Try clearing your forum cache.

It may take a while before Google picks up your keywords.
