why do I get this in almost every mod i try to install and how do I fix it. The mods that are for my smf version even do it.

Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

What mod is it? It is most likely a compatibility error.

Kill Em All

Do you have other mods installed?

Does every single file come up with a Test failed?

Hmm... okay, it's not a compatibility error (With SMF, still is possible with other mods). Also, like Kill Em All said, do you have any other mods installed?

yes

Jakob Fel

Hmm... do you know if any of those mods modify Admin.php? If so, then you would be getting that compatibility error. If there is another reason, I can't think of it.

how do I check?

Jakob Fel

Go into Package Manager. Where it lists all of the mods you have installed, click the link "List Files". It lists ALL included files with the mod. I included an image so you can see what I mean.

Kill Em All

Having them look there isn't gonna tell them anything at all unless he knows which file to look in and what the code inside them means....

kiroBot, look in the file named modification. The code changes can usually be found in there.

Then you will see a line similar to this:
<file name="$themedir/scripts/editor.js">

Expect the path to obviously change when you look at your own mods installed. Your gonna check to see if anything reads:
/Sources/Admin.php

Which looking at your mod list, a few of them will...

so now that we know that ;)

Your best bet is to probably make manual edits to your Admin.php. But do note that might cause conflict with other mods that put code there.

Look at the link in my sig about manually installing mods.

Yeaaahh... I think I probably could have added a little more there. I am getting really tired, maybe I should just take a break.
