I'm not sure if i am posting this question in the right place.I would like to know if you can have a working test SMF forum on your home computer.If so what is involved in making this happen?Thanks

all you need is Xampp Lite -> http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html#646
after installing this, copy all smf files to c:\xampp\htdocs
and install smf from your browser by putting as address:
localhost/install.php

for the mysql database, default values are: user: root, password: (none, leave empty)
then after installation access your smf by putting as address:
localhost

and thats it!
