show recent calendar events on forum header

hi i use ssi_recentevents on my webpage which prints out a short title of events and calendar enteries out on my webpage which is great but what i would like to know is how can the same information be added to a div header which i have added to my forum.
I have tried $context['calendareveny'] or some thing like that but to no avail.
Is there a code way to display the same as ssi but on the forum header it's self.

any code would be greatly recieved.
forum is 2 rc3
