Does it matter how many categories i have?

Is there any problem if i only have one Category and i put all boards in it with child boards?
At the moment i have 1 Category with 10 boards and 50 child boards .I mean is there any difference between using one category or using multiple categories?Does it load harder, it uses more resources or something?

For as far as I know the number of categories doesn't really affect the loads. For your users, with this amount of boards, having multipe categories is probably easier to browse your forum.
