another email problem... can't send from forum

I have SMF installed on my own ubuntu server. When I try to send anything that emails out to people, nothing happens. I get no error log, and of course no emails.

I have tried the php script suggested on the fourms and smf help. I get a successfule mail sent and the below is in the logs.I also get the email in my inbox.

Not sure what else to try, I've used php default, gmail, another of my hosting smtp server. Any help would be appreciated because I'm almost bard from pulling my hair out.
