Major problem with creating child boards

Every time I try to make a child board of a parent board it comes up with a error saying that the child board cannot be created because it can't find the parent board. Then when I go back to the forum the parent board is gone and I have to use find and repair errors feature everytime to restore the savaged board.

Why is this?

Above error looks like your admin session expired and you entered a wrong password. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with your issue.

Do you have access to phpMyAdmin? If so, try repairing the tableset for the database you use for SMF. If any output, please post back here the full (error)message.

What is phpMyAdmin?
