what are the theme template changes in SMF 1.1

have been worrying as to what the Template changes in the SMF 1.1 version will be

will all the present themes be backward compatible

It shouldn't be too bad as a lot of themes use a lot of template files from the default theme anyway. Also I believe that 1.0 themes tested on 1.1 do usually work fine its just you will need theme modifications to add what is new to 1.1. I am sure a lot of theme authors will be updating their themes for 1.1 as soon as it goes public.

Many custom  1.0.x themes wont work 100% with 1.1. There are quite huge changes in some areas. But, if you just modifyed only index.template and css file, there are only minor changes.
