SMF: 2.0RC3

In my threads it's like every post thats added the title of the tab adds an extra #new to the end. So i have 3 posts in my thread right now and it says;

"Welcome#new#new#new" Cant it just said "Welcome" :O ?

xenovanis

Any chance of posting a screenshot of that?

That's funny  ???

It's definitely not default, even one #new part isn't added to a tab for as far as I know. At least not in Firefox.

Do you have any mods installed? If you are using a custom theme, could you switch to the default to see if this happens as well?

Grim Line

Happens on the default theme aswell, I can't think of any mods that would do this though  ???

Heres a current list of the mods i have installed.

Just an off-the-wall question...

Do you get this if you use a proper browser?

I.E. does this only happen with... er... IE?

Grim Line

Downloading firefox now but heres the link you may be able to check it out faster ( Got a slow connection. )

I'm using Opera and I'm not getting that, at all.

Grim Line

Ok mozilla firefox doesn't display it either. So what about the affected IE users?

Me neither. I'm tempted to try IE but it takes soooo long to load  ::)

Grim Line, is this only when logged in?

Grim Line

Not sure but when i was logged in with IE it displayed it now with Firefox im logged in its gone.

FF seems laggier than IE at the moment to be honest.

Get them to use Opera. ;)

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

I wonder if it's a cache/cookie thing, somehow?

EDIT: Nope. Can't be that. I'm using IE8 (Spit!), now, and it's there, for me.

I'll have a rummage through IE's settings, to see if I can figure something...

xenovanis

It doesn't show this behaviour on my site with using IE (  :o)

Do you have cache enabled? Could you try clearing it in Admin -> Forum Maintenance?
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

kat

Well, when I went there, there wouldn't've been anything from that site in my cache...

Still, I emptied it, anyway and it's still there.

Not, exactly, a "Mission-critical" problem, though, is it?  ;)

Grim Line

It looks tacky as hell though and as it shouldn't be there it's annoying me  ???. Cleared the cache and still there.

xenovanis

How about Admin -> Forum Maintenance -> Find and repair any errors?
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Grim Line

QuoteCongratulations, no errors found! Thanks for checking.

kat

Got to be an IE setting...

******, I abhor IE...

I'm out of ideas, I'm afraid.

I was going to ask you what mods you have. But, they would affect all browsers, wouldn't they?

Hmmm...

What mods DO you have, installed?

Could Prettyurls cause this, if you have it?
