On the mods page you can click Parse and it will take you to another screen so you can manually edit your files for modifications instead of using the package manager.

On some mods, the older versions are no longer there so I cannot 'parse' them to look up on what to edit so I can remove the mod.

Is there a way to 'parse' the XML file contained in the zip file of the old mods I downloaded so I can read what to edit?

You can try there, but you will most likely get the same results. Why don't you just select the other version it will allow to parse?

Can you list some mods you are trying to parse?

Here is an example.

Author will upload his mod version 1.

I will manually edit my files to use the mod.

Author will upload version 2 with major changes and remove version 1.

I cannot 'parse' version 1 to remove the mod since it is removed.

Example is SMF Gallery.

Kill Em All

Do you still have the downloaded version of it zipped?

Yes.  Any mods I download a copy.

Kill Em All

So upload that zipped version to that package parser I linked you to.
