Validating XHTML & CSS

I was playing with the XHTML and CSS buttons on SMF then I realised that those buttons are to declare that the site is XHMTL and CSS valid. My site is, hmm.., not valid. The CSS file can't even be found.. Anyway, I assume that means I have to remove the buttons from my site right??

Have to?  No, it's not a law.  But, I would definately remove them if your site isn't valid and you don't plan on changing that.
