Hi,

We have a new forum, we were able to install packages until today, now when we try to install packages  we get "This web page is not available.

The web page at xxxxxxx/index.php?action=admin;area=packages;sa=install2;package=apache_err_handler_1.2.zip;pid=0 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

  More information on this error"

This happens on install and un-install, we have also tried different packages.

Forum --> hxxp:forum.prestige-gaming.co.uk [nonactive]

More info. the mod installation and uninstall gets past the file list and only happens once install/remove is clicked.

Please Help!

download the MOD package to your local machine from the MOD-page, then install the MOD by uploading him.
Most of the time this isn't a problem with your forum but with the package server.
Please, don't PM me for support unless invited.
If you don't understand this, you will be blacklisted.

quadmud

It was done via local machine, not the mod server :)

Is it all mods or just this one?

If it worked before and stopped working instantly, without you having changed anyting, I'm tempted to say it's a serverissue.

What errors were recorded in your errorlog?

You two are posting on the same issue, I assume?
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

1) Yes this is about the same issue.
2) It stopped working yesterday. So we restored the database (umong other things) and started again with no mod's installed. Then we where able to install some mods, some of the time. then it stopped.
3)
1 error:

Make sure the Packagedirectory is writable.
Create a directory named 'temp' in the Packagedirectory, also make sure it's writable.

Make sure all directories, as well as the directory where your forum is installed in, and files are writable. Usually, it should work with directories set to 777 or 755 and files 644 or 666. However, this depends on the serverconfiguration.

How do I chmod? / what is chmod?
Having problems with the package manager?

quadmud

Yes we have all those settings

TecKtoNiK.z0r

Try creating a temp dir. in your packages dir. and set its perm. to 777.

If that doesn't work ask your host if the dirs of your forum are in your ownership , if not change them to your ownership ( often its apache ownership)

quadmud

we fixed it.

we are not sure what it was but we chowned all files and then set permissions on all files to 777.
