PS. Also note that Ohara has a image as placeholder and only loads (heavy) youtube embed code after the image is clicked.

I checked out the links. That is not a feature I will be able to match. That is custom scripted not default youtube embeding code. What that mod is doing is custom css ans scripting to handle it to display in that matter.

Ha I was just looking for instagram integration as well and there you go!
If you would remove all the require "cache" dir lines from the XML it would install without modification in my case btw. And this dir is default for SMF so not really needed to check it I't say.

Would you be able to make YT responsive like the Ohara mod? Would be nice to use 1 plugin for all embeds of course

The cache folder has a file that I use to store the embeds to make it run faster.

Youtube responsive would currently be out of scope since that is really specific just to one video site. I might look into responsive for all videos at some point though.

Really, REALLY weird...

Ok, I replied before that the latest edition - 3.4 - did finally load the internal chrome video player. Unfortunately, the play button was grayed out. (Video loads fine if I put the link on the address bar of the browser.)

I tried an experiment - putting 3 separate video links in one post to see if one of them would play.

The first one, PRESTO! It works.

The other two do not even show.

Ok, maybe it needs extra text besides just the link... so I put "some random text" after a single link. Nope, didn't work.

So, I put two links in and put some random text before, between, and after. The first and last lines of text along with the first video show. The middle line (between video links) and the second link don't show.

So, long story short -

To make it work you have to put the link in twice. Can't have any text between the links as it won't show. This is definitey a coding issue of some sort, either with SMF or with the mod, but happy to report I have been able to get it to work at least.

ADDENDUM - I also just noticed that ALL text inside of the post becomes a clickable link (which obviously returns a 404 error).

No idea. Old method should still emebed. Not sure if facebook still keeps them though.

The attribute "sandbox" on the iframe generated would be a big plus for safety!

Reminder: Google maps does not work ...

The sandbox element not sure if people would want that. Seems to disable autoplay content such as video and other stuff
