Make a fulle back up of all your files
Make a full back up of your database

Restore them at your new host

Download repair_settings fom the SMF site
upload this to the new forumroot
run repair_settings
Please, don't PM me for support unless invited.
If you don't understand this, you will be blacklisted.

Thank you for the reply ;D

anyways I should of said this earlier but I am using a subdomain for the forum

So I need the forum to be exampleforum.com instead of forum.example.com

okay

my main site - "example.com"
my main forum "forum.example.com"

I want to turn my forum into "exampleforum.com"

um.. is there a way to make that happen or should I just go with what you said and make and back up and get another host

Turtles

Are you using a free host?

Edit: Woops sorry didn't see.

Anyway, you go to the cPanel and edit the redirictions there AFAIK. There should be something like "Domain Manager" in your account somewhere. Or find a Sub-Domain manager, and edit all the sub domains there. Well anyway, that's what I have on my host.

Rem Nightfall

Yes its paid

in my domain manager I have:

Subdomains
Addon domains
Parked domains
Redirects
Simple DNS zone editor
Advanced DNS zone editor

I am guessing I should use the Addon domain for cPanel since I bought it?
