Activation loop

I just upgraded to 2. R3 and cannot user registratiin to work.

1. User registers with ID & password.
2. User gets validation Email with link and code
3. user clicks on link which brings up another screen that wants user information including validation code.
4. viscius cycle starts over again

It is not recognizing validation codes that it is generating.

There could be an error in the activation code being sent.

Using Search, enter activation into the search field then select 1x and 2x Boards and see if any of those threads shed any light on this.

Finally figured out the problem but I still don't ha a solution.
I use the Gmail on line email application and if I click on the Authorization link in Gmail reader it will not activate but I can copy the shortcut to IE8 and it works.

Thiss will probably be an ongoing issue since many people us Gmail.

I have used gmail webmail on my test forums for RC2 and no activation problems whatsoever.

Did you resolve the problem?

I have discovered the same problems on my forum using SMF 2.0 RC3 + gmail activation.
The user gets a valid activation email, but when you click the link in gmail (webmail) you are directed to a page where the user can resend the activation email.
If the user copy/past the activation url, or right click > open in new tab, it works. So somehow, gmail is doing something to that url.
