Can't decide on a few things :(

Hi, I just downloaded the latest version of SMF (2.0 RC3) and I'd like to know a few things.

1) What is the best portal system to use with this latest version in terms of least bugs or being most compatible.

2) I'd like to install SMF in a subfolder of my domain let's say http://www.mydomain.com/forums/ [nofollow]
    So can I use a Portal System to make it my homepage at http://www.mydomain.com/ [nofollow] and feed it my forum data from             http://www.mydomain.com/forums/ [nofollow]

3) What is the best method to make my URLS search engine friendly? If it is to use a mod, then which is the best mod?

1) Depends on what you want, Each portal has his own pro's and contra's

2) Not needed. The Portals will be installed as a MOD of SMF so they wil be in a submap of SMF

3) I think there are others that can better advise you about this

2) Well what if I want to install SMF in http://www.mydomain.com/forums/ [nofollow] and want to have my portal in http://www.mydomain.com/ [nofollow] or http://www.mydomain.com/index.php [nofollow]      So can this not be done?

3) Still need help regarding how to best SEO my forum/portal

1) What's a pro for me is a contra for you. Make self a comparison:  http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;type=17

2) Maybe with a standalone portal and/or a redirect this will be possible but as said, the portals are a MOD in SMF, so SMF is leading and the portal is integrated in it. When using SP sp-files will be placed in /forum/sp map but portal will be shown when calling /forum

I suggest SimePortal. Simple, and it's a Portal.

Remember SMF is just a forum and can be addded to any other type of program.
