How can i move my forum from a hosting to another one without losing any data ?

Ken.

Firstly, always do your own backup's in case your new host breaks something.

Then... many (most?) hosting services will make the move for you.

yes ken but most hosts charge for this and sometimes its way to expensive. @TecKtoNiK.z0r ask your new host if they migrate sites between hosts and servers and if so how much they charge for doing this. but as ken stated always create backups

- Make a backup of all your files
- Make a backup of you database
- Upload all file to the new server
- Import your database on the new server
- Download "repair_settings.php" on the SMF-site
- Upload "repair_settings.php" to the rootdir of your forum at the new host
- Run repair settings in your browser

- Open settings.php in a good editor and change the path to the cache directory (at the bottom of that file)
- Go to Admin - Configuration - Themes and Layout - Theme Settings and adjust the URL and Paths for yout themes.

Normaly after these actions your forum will run properly again.

How do I backup my database?

If you are going to do it from phpmyadmin, then go to phpmyadmin --> Your database --> Export (on the top) and then export it in terms of .zip or .sql as it is widely accepted while restoring.
