Uninstall Errors

I'm trying to remove a few mods from my site but the un-installer runs into errors, what's the best way to resolve this? -

1. Manually un-install the entire mod.
or
2. Let the un-installer remove what it can and then tidy up the bits it failed on?

the best way is to let the packager manager do the uninstall and then on the ones marked with error, do the uninstall manually.
