ok, maybe i have make this clear a little bit
i just want this button under member profile to disappear (see attachment
so members can only send forum personal message to other member not e-mail

i don't want to disable activate e-mail, reminder e-mail etc

so far i can see simplemachines.org doesn't have e-mail button in every members' profiles
how can i do that?

and how do i disable the allow user to e-mail me function for all members?

kat

If your members go to their profile and Account settings, they can hide that, anyway.

Not from admins, though, which is useful. ;)

The standard is to show the e-mail, unfortunately.

I believe that's going to change, in future versions. :)

"Hidden" will be the default, as it should be.

i'm going to remove the allow member to e-mail option at register page

but how i do apply "uncheck allow member to e-mail me" option for all existing members?
unfortunately i have 1300 members in my forum, i can't edit it one by one :-\

kat

I don't think you can. :(

What I did, on my forum, was send a mass-PM to everyone, telling them that there e-mail addresses were open to everyone to see, unless they hid them, themselves.

Worked a treat! :)
