unable to connect to simplemachines.org's latest news file

Hey,

When I am in Admin CP and check the :
" Live from Simple Machines.."

That's what I see: "You are unable to connect to simplemachines.org's latest news file."

How can I fix that?

You can't do anything I think.

I'm not sure about the real reason but if there is a problem with that server or it is even an bug.

It was like that since the start of the forum.

This is a known problem, even with fresh installed boards.

Works fine for me on all of my test installs capady..., both SMF 1.1.x and 2.0

The time I can see it not working (which I know for a fact) is when you are behind a proxy... SMF's assumes a non-proxied connection and doesn't have provisions for it otherwise.
