SMF Version number gone??

Hey I've just recently been trying to install packages for my forum which is 2.0RC3 but it says that they are either corrupt or not for this version of SMF?

So I checked my version of and now all it says is SMF with no numbers next to it saying which version it is heres a screenshot


So I just wondered if maybe one of the packages has edited this? And is there a way I can edit it so it knows it RC3??

Its any package that I try at all not just a specific one. I even tried an old package that I had already had installed and now it won't install anymore. I think the problem is SMF doesn't know what version it is. Its just listed as SMF instead of SMF RC3 like it used to be. But I don't know what has caused this or how it can be fixed?

I find it hard to believe a mod did this.  Did you recently upgrade? Did you experience any problems while upgrading?

In Admin -> Maintenance -> Forum Maintenance, please perform this task:
Check all files against current versions

And post back the results you get when clicking each link.

No it was a fresh install with 2.0 rc3 and everything has been working fine until I tried to install a package, at first I thought it was the package itself but after trying others Ive found that its a problem with smf itself. I believe something has been edited somewhere along the line.

Not sure if you can make much sense of this because I had to copy and paste it. If theres a better way to do it let me know, an thanks for tryin to help because im stuck. Also theres quite a few additional files as I have a few packages installed

It happens with every package. I tried several even ones that have previously worked. As an example of one I tried is this http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2704 but they are all the same even though they should be compatible

We're miscommunicating

Your main issue is that your files are at 2.0.x, where your version thinks it's at 1.1.x. That could be caused by a very bad mod, but it also may be an issue with your database. So, if it is caused by a mod, I'd like to know what mod you installed last prior to this happening.

Could you run this query in phpMyAdmin?

If smf_ is not the prefix you're using for your smf database, change it to what it is you're using.

I ran the query and it does actually say im running RC3. I cant actually remember the last package I installed as its been a while but I haven't noticed anything wrong until i tried to install a new package.

So Im kinda stuck because I didn't have any older database backups prior to this happening so not really sure what to do next. Any suggestions?

I've tried a few things now to be honest lol. But when I go down to advanced and i press revert then apply im left with Emulate Version: SMF SMF??!

Something is majorly wrong but I've spent alot of time moddin the forum and it now has quite a few members do you think there is anything i can do?

Could you try clearing the cache in Admin -> Maintenance -> Forum Maintenance -> Routine?

Also, are there any errors in your errlolog?

Just do one thing. Download the large upgrade package from download page and then upload all those via ftp and run the upgrade.php . It will solve ur version issue. And then run repair_settings.php.

Why do all the hard work again when only the version number is a problem ?

Have you installed the modification "Hide SMF version" ?
