Error After Installing Mods! Help Please

An Error Has Occurred!
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

I have version 2.0EC3 and I for everything for that version. Why is the error still showing up? This is driving me CRAZYYYYY.

Also why all my mods show 1.0 when many of the mods got 2.0 RC3 in the list of mods. How Do I get them to be 2.0 when I install it instead of the first version of smf.

umm, try changing the directory permissions of the mod to WRITABLE (using ftp) or the CP of your host..


MAKING IT "777" IS THE BEST THING..

Download the mod then go to public_html then packages then temp and upload the zip folder and upload it.
I created a temp folder in packages and changed the chomd to 777. I did the same thing but when I installed 2.0RC3 It was deleted I guess. Problem solved.
