need help with "forums markers"

ok so i have no experience with this type of board. the only type of forums i have created/edited until now are invisionfree boards. So, i was wondering how do i change those folders you see on the sides of categories when it says whether or not it has new posts or now. i know them as forum markers from years of editing IF boards. if someone could tell me how to upload custom forum markers it would be appreciated.

You would just upload the new on.gif off.gif and on2.gif files to your themes/images folder and then they should take affect

Don't forget to clear your forum cache after uploading the new images:

Admin - Maintenance - Forum Maintenance - Routine,  run the last option.
