Not sure if its a big concern right now but the forum index etc is failing due to a typo and the post page gives up, if thats something that will be dealt with once everything else is sorted feel free to slap me with a large trout

What happened to the quick search, or simple search or whatever it was called in YSE? That was really useful and easier to use :)

Nah, I think it's very useful, just a one click search! :)

Acf

The thing i search for are most of time older then 60 days... :(
Sigh...

Yeah, it would be nice if it defaulted to forever.

Not really, just makes for a larger query. Better to leave it user selectable. I may not want all instances of the search "yabbse" for the last 700 days....that would suck. :D But if I want more than 60, I'd do the advanced search. 60 is a pretty nice number...course, you could always set that higher.

Maybe they could make it an option in the profile?

There are ongoing discussions about the best way to handle searches, but from what I gather, the whole lot will be rewritten.

Are there already some screenshots from the new search interface?

Lol, talking about the least significant bit of a new search engine ;D

klumy

I don't think so. IMO a clean interface is as important as the search engine itself.

Still find a clean interface useful. It doesn't look too cluttered as it is now. This doesn't just belong to the search interface also to the search results.

bostasp

I do like klumy's interface though, when I first when to search (even on YaBB) you end up going "what on earth do I do with this?"

Yep :) If there is a clean interface it is faster to understand and the Noobs do not need to break there head over it if u also put the right discription next to it.
Sigh...

Well, the search thing up at the top of every page works fine if you seelct community forum...
