password strength

There's probably a FAQ for this but I can't find it.

If I increase password strength from low to high, will all those users with existing low strength (say 4 characters) be prompted to reset their password to the (8 + upper and lower case mix), or will their passwords stay valid?

The passwords will remain valid, until they get changed. When changing them, the new rules will apply.
