Well there are no nice themes I have found for rc5 but I'v found this one i like but it's not for rc5 is there anyway to convert it? (I can't post link)

Welcome to SMF.

RC5?  No such version.

Most folks won't attempt to convert 1.1.11 themes to 2.0.  There are way to many differences.

I own a forum site "weaponsguild.com" that has over 11K members and almost 200k posts.

We have been running the "Alienation" theme on the site (Current SMF version 1.1.11) since the site was created almost 2 years ago.

We want (or are at least strongly considering) to upgrade to the SMF version 2, however we want to "Keep" the current theme.

Is there anyone who contracts out theme conversions (from 1.1.xx to the new SMF 2.0 RC4) ?

I could probably come close if I have access to the original theme files.  ;)
No, I will not offer free downloads to Premium DzinerStuido themes. Please stop asking.

the upgrade script will *attempt* to convert old themes to work with 2.0, you can try that method first if it does not work good enough you can then try to get someone to create it fresh.

You might consider posting a topic in the Help Wanted (not for support) board if you haven't already contacted G1 about the comversion.

Are you able to convery RC3 to RC4? If so how do you do it?

Illori

it is possible, but please open your own topic for your issue.

Your best bet would be to register on Bloc's site and ask him to make a 2.0 version. It's his theme. He might do it if you ask nicely.

TBH I don't think that particular bit of script would do that good a job. It'll try, but the differences are enormous. I would have left that script out if it was up to me and just made people get proper 2.0 themes.

For anyone who wants to "convert" a 1.1.x theme to 2.0, the best option is to NOT do a conversion as such. Start with the 2.0 default and make a new 2.0 theme that has the looks (gfx, css, etc) of the theme you want. That is, in practice, much easier than trying to track every change in the 1.1.x/2.0 templates and css.

We are awaiting permission from Bloc to try this conversion. I did not want to attempt it without his permission. But, the op desires some hard coding done that I am not sure I am able to do anyway.

Received permission from Bloc to have someone modify the theme (for my site only, not distribution) and have PM'd a copy of his permission to "G1".  ;D
