Outbox with editable PMs?

Is it possible to get a PHPBB-style outbox that would allow editing already sent (but not yet read by the receiver) private messages? Sometimes it would be nice to edit stuff out without the receiver being able to see the original...

(we have turned off the option for copying new pm's into the receiver's email address)
