Making peple validating

I want to do so people can just see one forum when register and in there they will apply to become a full member(a clan) and an admin have to edit his profile/accept somewhere to get this person to become a member that can see all other forums, how can i do this?, First time using SMF(only tested it before) Detailed answer if possible, i know forums just not smf (i do vbulletin and ipb)

Set "Registration", so that all new members go into a specific membergroup.

Make sure that membergroup can only see the board(s) that you want them to see.

Then, when they've been accepted for full membership, move them to another membergroup, which allows them to see everything.

My forum was for an online "Clan" game, originally.

So, mine was set-up in exactly this way.
