I am using the "DarkModern Theme by Crip" and his link is covered up by the "2-SI Chat" mod.
Firstly let me say thanks to crip for a great designer theme, I had no intention to hide his link and would like to fix it.  I have tried several times to move his link on the same line with the SMF copyright and I bugger it up every time.  How can I put his link on the same line as the SMF copyright and float the whole line left.  My forum is here http://techraffle.com/forum/index.php thanks for your help. :)

Are you talking about a blue band that says 'Welcome guest, login or register (etc...)'  If so add about 20px of padding to the bottom of the footer.
To do that, open the css from the theme (/Themes/darkmodern_203/css/index.css), and add this to line 1457, which starts with #footer_section.
padding-bottom:20px;

Or does it change for logged in members?

You can find the copyright stuff in index.template.php, in the theme folder.  You should be able to do what you want in the css file, but if it changes for logged in members I can't see it to tell you exactly what.
