Pretty Urls Question - Robots.txt - Restrict Indexing of Msg Numbers

Message numbers are in the following format

forum/forum-games/vending-machine-game/msg1220

How do i only enable search engines to only index /forum/category/topic and not /forum/category/topic/message#

you dont need to; all of the pages should contain the canonical url so search engines treat them all as correctly related pages

weird because ive named paged numbers on my title.
if you google techied.net youll see the page numbers

could this have something to do with my twitter account using twitter feed and tweeting every single reply?

it might do, yes

but you need to be able to let google etc access different pages of a thread otherwise it only ever gets the first page in a thread... google knows how to deal with it on your behalf

This could just as well be caused by the pretty urls mod.
