Hi ;)

how can i made a update from RC3 to RC4?

First all modifications deinstalled, then upload all RC4 files and finally installed the modifications, or?

Best regards.

kat

Personally, I wouldn't worry about uninstalling stuff.

Have a read, here:

Oya

uninstalling stuff is more important when going between 2.0 releases seeing how the upgrader doesn't change the log_packages table, so everything is still marked installed...

kat

I hadn't realised that.

I only have v2.x on my test site, for obvious reasons.

Also, I tend to install mods, to have a butcher's. Then, I remove them.

So, I hadn't realised that.

Again, Ta, Oya!

For me not so understandable, the update instructions is for 1.x.
thought that is normal for an update. In the RC the files
overwritten. These files are changed by the modifications. If this now
be easily overridden, then yes, these changes will be lost. Or?

kat

What Oya said makes sense.

A mod could edit files that are in the upgrade and some that aren't in the upgrade won't be replaced.

So, if you try to reapply the mod, it might well fail.

It might well be best to uninstall mods.

Thing is, as I undertsand it, you have to uninstall them in the reverse order that you installed them. (I could be wrong and that might not be the same for v2.x).

If you know how to do that, great!

To be perfectly honest, if I had a "live" RC3 forum, I wouldn't bother upgrading to RC4.

I'd wait for v2 Final.
