For EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format), most digital camera is using it for store camera settings and scene information.
Is it only for camera? of course not.  However, most graphic software is using IPTC to store information.

if you can't load php_exif.dll in windows OS :

1. Normally the extensions are listed in alphabetical order in php.ini , php_mbstring.dll MUST be loaded before php_exif.dll or it will not work.
Simply cut the line containing php_mbstring.dll & paste it directly above the php_exif.dll line & exif should be in business.

2. if that won't help after 1.  just copy php_exif.dll to windows\system32

I successfully installed the Exif MOD on my ProPhotoForum this evening - but encountered a problem which I'm wondering if it can be coded around - - - I get an error message with png and gif posted image files (obviously because png and gif do not support Exif). Is there a way of checking the extension in your code and using if {} logic to not display Exif  Data unless reading a JPG file? ? ?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: exif_read_data() in /home/content/p/h/o/photosbychris/html/forum/Sources/exif.php on line 44

I installed your mod and it broke my forum in places, as follows:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: exif_read_data() in /home/photocam/public_html/Sources/exif.php on line 44

This I get on some picture posts now, as this:

http://www.photocamel.com/index.php/topic,3064.0.html

This occurs even *after* I uninstalled the mod. Please advise ASAP.

Thanks.

Important: how do I return my picture display back to normal after this apparently botched uninstall?
