decrease the space

i wanna decrease the space between the poster details and the subject becase it is so big !
how i can do that ??

Make backup of the file before editing it

Themes\Default\css\index.css

Find:

Code Select Expand

.poster
{
float: left;
width: 15em;
}

edit 15em to something like 11em


Find:

Code Select Expand

.postarea, .moderatorbar
{
margin: 0 0 0 16em;
}

here also edit 15em to 11em

Do a hard refresh to see the changes .

i just changed mine to

and this worked correctly, once i changed the ul.quickbuttons to

yes i did that by cpanal of smf ( admin ) .despite i didnt see anything with preview when i made changed, i continue with it

try using your ftp client, the browse to the Themes folder, located where your forum is, go to the theme you are using then go to css and download index.css, then make the changes to the file and ipload again overwriting the old one.
