How to set a bogus ip for all/some posts?

Hi,
I run a message board about gender and sexuality. Last year I had set up a separate forum, using a totally anonymous message board script called kareha, but people found it confusing, so I ditched it.

I'm looking for an anonymous posting solution for smf. Even me has to be prevented from say, being able to look up IPs, in order for me to be very clear that my members can post totally anonymously. Messages posted shouldn't be linked to post history of individual members' profiles.

So, I'm thinking about maybe there is a way to display the same ip for everyone posting on the forum (Or maybe only for registered members? or for all posts made to a particular board? or to set one bogus ip for everyone posting from a particular account? whichever would be easier I guess). I've found some stuff about it in older threads, but not for smf 2. I'm using RC4.

You ould create a new account and set it to be called Annoymous,  wand post the login details also set the profile to be mod approved posts, as for the ip the only person who can see IP's be default are admins.

Yeah that's what I'll do, if I don't find another way. Good point about reminding me of the pre-approved option for posts.

But I saw how much freer people were posting, posting content much more private, when I had that totally anon script, so ideally I would prefer not even me to see the Ips.

Someone has to have database access, and that means access to everything !

Malaky there is no way to hide the ip's legally its not allowed, and even when posing things confidential if they are posting something illegal like saying the admit to like child porn then that IP is needed for you to contact the police ... and yes its your repsonsibility to do that morally.  Maybe you should add this to the terms.
