So about 2 weeks ago I upgraded to 2.0 RC4 from RC3.

Since that time, the members of my forum and myself have been receiving the following error;

"Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again."

This occurs whenever we attempt to post a new topic, reply to a topic, logout, or login into the Admin section of the forum. According to those that responded on my forum it is occurring on all browsers.

I've been scouring this site and Google for the last 2 weeks trying to find a fix and have tried everything I've found so far, with no luck. The only way around this that we've been able to find so far is to reply to a topic (or create a new topic) and preview the post prior to submitting it. This only needs to be done once per login/internet connection.

I am at my whits end regarding this, and any help would be appreciated.

My website is .... hxxp:thefirstresponders.com/forum [nonactive]

Thank you.

If you use the SMF default theme, does this still happen?

Yes. When I upgraded it switched everyone back to the Default theme for a few days before I realized it and they were having the problem then as well.

Oh, dear...

That's a lot of mods.

Did you notice the weirdness going down, after installing any of those?

No it was pretty much right after installing 2.0 RC4. I used most if not all of those adds with RC3 as well and never had this issue.

Are all those mods RC4 compatible?

For the most part. Most of them are RC4 compatible out of the box.

There was 2 / 3 that needed manual installs in order to work.

Have you checked the edits you made?

That has to be favourite, I reckon.

FR Tilion

I did go back and check all the modifications I've made (that is the cause of my delay in reply'ing) and according to the install instructions for each mod and what I've made for modifications everything is okay.

All the mods I do have are functioning as they should.

On a side note I noticed that someone else posted a topic a few days back regarding the same issue .. http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=411672.0

I tried the same advice that was given to him but that didn't solve my problem.

Anything showing-up in your error-logs, by any chance?

Plus, if you go to the root of your forum, where Settings.php is, you'll see a directory named "cache".

Try deleting everything that's inside that directory.

No, nothing showing up in the Error Log. Just the normal user errors (don't have access, forgot password).

I'll try the Cache thing. Thank you.
